The Reidsville facility is part of the Envision Resin Group, a Division of CCC.

 

We are currently seeking a Utility Worker for our Reidsville facility. The Utility Worker reports directly to Shift Lead.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Utility Worker includes Bale Breaker and Pick Line Opertor responsiblities. This includes the transportation of staged raw materials to the bale breaker for the grinding process, and proper sorting of recycled materials on the picking line. This position will maximize the amount of reusable plastic for production, allowing passage of HDPE plastic and removal of non-reusable materials. The Bale Breaker/Pickline Operator will be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Pick Line Operator

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment on the sorting line
  • Become familiar with plastic (HDPE) to keep and other plastics/materials to discard (i.e. glass, tin)
  • Properly dispose of the contents in waste boxes and hoppers in the compactor
  • Maintain a clean work area, ensuring any reusable plastic on the ground is redistributed through bale breaker
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Bale Breaker

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain a constant flow of materials to the bale breaker.
  • Operate forklift to retrieve bales from assigned locations.
  • Operate and maintain bale breaker and related equipment, including grinder, wire cutter, and tow motor.
  • Remove excess waste, including all wires or bands, before submitting bale of raw materials to the bale breaker.
  • Maintain proper disposal of full waste boxes and hoppers.
  • Keep and report accurate records of all bales processed.
  • Maintain a clean work area, including re-submitting bottles that have fallen from bales to the bale breaker.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Basic computer experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.  Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.  Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
