We are currently seeking a Southeast Regional Safety Manager.

Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal, health and safety regulations. High focus on coaching and facilitating assigned plants on behavior based safety and building a strong safety culture.  Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes health and safety recommendations accordingly. Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating policy and procedure manuals. Works with plant management to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Works under general and remote supervision.

Responsibilities

Works with assigned plants to implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with CCC programs and policies.

  • Will engage all workers in each assigned plant to build a safety culture, with a special focus on leading indicators.
  • Will work with plant management to drive a pro-active approach to safety
  • Responsible for conducting incident investigations, including root cause identification and implementation of corrective actions
  • Provides advice to the plant management on regulatory codes and compliance requirements (Federal OSHA and State OSHA plans)
  • Works with assigned plants to ensure training goals are met and assist with building train-the-trainer program as needed.
  • Facilitates hazard identification and mitigation via the plant safety teams.
  • Works with corporate EHS to ensure compliance and preparation for local regulatory changes
  • Will be working with 18-22 plants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a science field. Must be capable of problem solving in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate an experience in involving the correct stakeholders and customers to integrate EHS into the system and not work as a stand-alone department.
  • Must have 8-10 years’ experience in the local region and dealing with the respective agencies (Federal OSHA and State OSHA plans)
  • Track record of working with management in program roll out and success.
  • Must be a trainer and facilitator.
  • Southeast based
  • Travel approximately 50%
