    The CAD Designer will work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Equipment Vendors, Contractors, and Plant Personnel to manage and create all drafted documentation associated with projects. The documentation will primarily be created using AutoCAD and AutoCAD related software, and the scope of the job will span all elements of the project life cycle inclusive of gathering project requirements, preliminary and final design, procurement and As-Builts of equipment and materials, project monitoring and control. Work will also include updating management of documentation for existing equipment systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare plant layouts, sections, and details from verbal instructions, sketches, concepts or mark-ups provided by engineering or project management staff. Draw and plot drawings to scale, as required.
    • Work under the functional direction of Project Leadership and Department supervisor to design complex drawings, such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, construction documents, routine design layouts, detailed drawings, equipment skid and piping.
    • Prepare and work with bills of material (BOMs) and other construction documents.
    • Support preparation of requests for bids for subcontractors and material vendors, as directed.
    • Maintain drawing file storage system to ensure integrity of record drawings and current drawings under development.
    • Understand basic functionality of CCC’s production and support equipment, with a keen knowledge of operator access points, maintenance requirements and access, and production equipment staffing requirements.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Assume ownership of CCC CAD Standards and develop those standards to a higher level of effectiveness.
    • Validate all plant layouts reflect accurate As-Built conditions, and maintain those layouts as changes are made.
    • Work as part of a collaborative team to balance workloads and ensure quality deliverables are produced on time.
    • Develop and adhere to CCC practices, policies and procedures for document revision control.

    Qualifications

    • 5+  years AutoCAD experience
    • High level of proficiency in AutoCad (2014 or newer version)
    • Strong understanding of, mechanical design fundamentals and practices 
    • AutoCAD software, including AutoCAD P&ID
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Education Required:
    • AutoCAD training (2yr Associates degree in Drafting Technology or Equivalent
