    We are currently seeking an Area HR Specialist for our Reidsville and Mt. Airy plants.   The Area HR Specialist reports directly to the Regional HR Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Job Objective:  The Area Human Resource Specialist works closely with senior HR management in handling and supporting various HR employee programs within a designated geographic area. Carries out responsibilities in the following functions: benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance, and workers compensation administration. 

       

      • Models our Company’s Guiding Principles and champions our Always Made Right, Always Made Safe Culture;
      • Talent Acquisition - Conducts recruitment efforts for non-exempt roles; interviews candidates for employment; conducts new-employee orientations; writes and advertises job openings through our ICIMs recruiting tool;
      • Training: - Coordinates and provides assistance to area leaders with the development and delivery of training programs;
      • Payroll - Administers and processes payroll functions including review of timesheet reports, wage computation and other information;
      • Advocate - Viewed as an “Employee Advocate” who voices employee concerns to leaders; ensures fair and equitable treatment is given to all;
      • HR Administrator - prepares and maintains employment records, pay changes, promotions, terminations and other employment activities; supports and administers plant recognition programs and oversees progressive discipline process for hourly employees; assists with and prepares changes in employment status, terminations, time-off request, documentation and compliance, etc.;
      • Performs various labor and employee relations duties; investigates and addresses employee relations issues;
      • Prepares internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies;
      • Position requires up to 30% of travel, varies on scope of area;
      • Other duties as assigned by management.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work and minimum of three years of human resources experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

     

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Associate’s Degree
    • Professional or Senior Professional Human Resources (PHR/SPH) certification preferred
    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

     

    Work Environment
