    Responsibilities

    The Production Supervisor will take ownership of all aspects of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) extruded products factory and process engineering. This includes safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement activities. The candidate must have hands-on technical background in a high-volume plastic extrusion (resin) manufacturing environment and ISO 9000 experience. Automotive supplier experience preferred.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Manage production operations in a 24-hour/7 days a week high -volume plastics extrusion (resin) products manufacturing environment.

    • Manage the work and performance of direct and indirect reports
    • Provide training, coaching, and performance management counseling
    • Lead and drive safety culture and improvements to achieve a zero-accident environment
    • Follow production schedule to meet customer orders
    • Ensure all products are in compliance with customer requirements, internal quality specifications, Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
    • Meets production performance targets
    • Lead continuous improvement projects for to improve systems and procedures, increase through put, reduce downtime, and to reduce waste
    • Use quality methodology including statistical methods, lean manufacturing, 6-sigma, and problem solving
    • Resolve internal process and product quality issues by utilizing 8D and or DMAIC methodologies
    • Maintain process controls, standardized work, control plans, and process documentation
    • Lead improvements for equipment uptime and reduction of unscheduled downtime
    • Collect and analyze performance data against defined parameters
    • Preparing technical and management system reports

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Basic mathematical skills 
    • 1-3+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing or automotive industry
    • ISO 9000 experience

    Work Environment:

    Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.  Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
